At Paris Fashion Week, Dior presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection with Jonathan Anderson continuing to explore the identity of the French fashion house. The show took place at the Jardin des Tuileries, with the garden setting adding to the romantic feeling of the collection.
This season, Dior felt softer, lighter and less formal. Anderson worked with familiar Dior ideas but gave them a more relaxed and modern feeling.
The Theme
The collection was built around romance, nature and imperfection. Flowers became an important part of the story, appearing through prints, fabric details and three-dimensional decorations.
The garden setting made this idea even stronger. Instead of creating a perfectly controlled world, the collection played with the idea that beauty can also come from things that feel natural and slightly imperfect.
The Dresses
Dresses were some of the most interesting pieces in the collection. Dior used flowing fabrics, sheer layers, floral details and soft shapes to create movement.
Some dresses felt delicate and romantic, while others were more relaxed and modern. Floral details added another layer to the clothes, with flowers appearing almost like they had been placed directly onto the garments.
There was also a contrast between soft dresses and more structured pieces. This kept the collection from becoming too traditionally romantic.
Silhouettes and Fabrics
The silhouettes felt less rigid than the traditional image of Dior. Instead of focusing only on sharp tailoring, Anderson introduced flowing shapes, loose layers and pieces that moved naturally with the body.
Sheer fabrics, lace-like textures and floral decorations were combined with structured jackets and tailoring. This contrast gave the collection a balance between softness and strength.
For me, this is one of the more interesting parts of the collection. The clothes still feel connected to Dior, but they do not look like they are simply repeating the past.
Styling and Beauty
The styling continued the relaxed mood of the collection. Hair was loose and slightly undone, while the makeup kept the skin fresh with silver detailing around the eyes.
The beauty look made the clothes feel younger and less formal. It also worked well with the idea of imperfection running through the collection.
Dior Spring/Summer 2027 is about changing the feeling of Dior without losing its identity.
Jonathan Anderson takes the house’s romantic side and makes it feel more relaxed, youthful and natural. Flowers, flowing dresses, soft silhouettes and imperfect styling all contribute to this new mood.
The collection shows that heritage does not always have to be repeated exactly as it was. Sometimes, it can be softened, changed and made relevant again.
