For her Resort 2025 collection, Tracy Reese leaned into a fresh, one-shoulder style, bringing her vision of effortless yet intriguing fashion to life. “I’m really into one-shoulder pieces right now,” she shared over Zoom, explaining her desire to create pieces that are simple to wear but rich in design interest. This season’s lineup includes tops with sashes, drawstring-waist dresses, and a cropped, ruffled blouse, all united by subtle details—like mini pom-poms along the seams of wide-leg pants and eyelet accents peeking from slip dress hems—that lend the collection a playful edge. “It’s about looking feminine yet powerful,” Reese explained. She added that the oversized, pajama-inspired pieces and airy fabrics with smocking offer a relaxed feel, making them as comfortable as they are chic.
The collection spans a broad aesthetic range, with prints from candy-colored stripes to intricate ironwork patterns, and silhouettes from slouchy suits to structured A-line minis. But Reese ties it all together with a dedication to sustainable materials. Her choices include washed organic linen (in a cropped, boxy button-down), Tencel jersey (for dresses with cutouts), and Naia satin (for slip skirts), reinforcing her commitment to eco-conscious fashion. Reese’s Detroit design studio, nearing its second year, serves as more than just a creative space. It houses the Hope for Flowers showroom, an apprenticeship program, and even a local production unit, where the collection’s one-shoulder dresses will be made.

Detroit also brings Reese’s prints to life, including an oversized gingham pattern featured on linen shorts and an overcoat. Describing her process, she said, “I took a big sheet of watercolor paper, mixed my paints, and created a light grid that I filled in box by box.” Although she finds the start of each new print a bit daunting, Reese believes the final result is worth every effort.
